Farewell 2008 ... Hello 2009!

Today is already the last day of 2008. Another brand year is just a day away :) What have you achieved and what are you going to achieve in the new year?

I have not achieved much this year yet nothing to regret about. I am thankful to have a loving and understanding husband and of course, a sensible daughter with me.

I have learnt that there are many things that I have to "survived" by myself, no more depending on people and must be more independent :) Learnt that I need to travel more .. hahahaha .. since I am getting older. Learnt that I have to be more gentle with Misha since she is growing and learnt that I have many many more things to learn :)

So, let's welcome 2009 with open arms and hopefully this brand new year will be a better year for everyone :)

Bento Accessories #6

Bought the above bento accessories quite some time ago BUT yet to start to use it :( Misha told me that I have to use them as soon as possible so that she can show her friends what beautiful bentos I can make. Hahaha .. kids :)

That's what I have prepared for Misha's lunch. They are :


a) Egg with christmas carrot inside :)
b) Love shaped minced pork (quite successful-Misha loves it very much)
c) Rice with seaweeds stripes wrapped around - it smells so nice ie the seaweed
d) Deep dried potstickers.

Bento Shopping #5

Bought the above lunch box for Misha from nearby departmental store. She loves it very much especially it is a Barbie :)

Well, guess need to prepare more bento for her since she has new lunch box .. hahaha :)

Misha requested for sambal ikan bilis for her lunch today and since I still have some minced pork, I decided to fry some mini minced pork balls for her :)

Her lunch consists of :

1. Rice with carrot/egg as tulip flowers; brocolli as grass;
2. Fried mini minced pork balls
3. Roll up eggs - 1st time doing it - quite successful :)
4. Sambal ikan bilis
5. Fruits - mini apple from Japan, a small slice of Korean Persimmon and a piece of choco

Trying to be more adventureous today? Hahaha ... decided to prepare small "samples" for Misha's lunch today:) Well .. what I can say that it was quite successful :)

Prepared :

a) Egg with seaweed as hair and star shaped cheese as hair clip

b) Sample of bolognese spaghetti

c) Two fish shapes with sparkling eyes

d) Popiahs

Misha loves the bento today, even her friends said that the egg looked lovely :)

Bought the alphabet cutters from Chooi Peng earlier. Did not have the chance to use it till today :)

Decided to surprise Misha but but ... the alphabets are quite small .. cannot see clearly :) Anyway, it is better than nothing right?

Prepared the following for her lunch :-

a) Rice with seaweed and alphabet ham

b) Grill sliced pork

c) Steamed sweet corn

d)Not so successful heart shaped minced pork. Supposed to be heart shaped but ended to be like .. hmmm .. triangle? hahaha .. need to practise more on that :-)

Overall, it was a lovely lunch for her. Her friends said that the rice look cute :)

Agreed with Misha the night before that she should buy school lunch from the Cafeteria since I do not have things to cook for her .. hehehe. But on the morning, I have decided that I will cook something for her .. something simple will do.

Let's have a look at my creative bento . .. hahaha .. which consists of egg/luncheon meat/corn/brocolli and carrot :)
