Kung Woo Bean Curd Shop @ SSP, HK

Kun Woo Bean Curb Shop is one of the pioneer shops at Sham Shui Po area. We "found" this particular shop when hubby went to buy his xbox games nearby.

This particular Kung Wo shop on Pei Ho Street started operated since 1960s. What is so special about this shop, I am sure many of you will ask. Well ... this shop sells bean curd dessert and other bean curd products :)

I love their bean curd dessert (dau fu fa) ever since the first time I tried and I can see many locals love it to :)

And going into the shop is like stepping back in time. The high ceiling, floor tiles, huge fans and cash baskets made of rattan are the same as those used decades ago.

Let's have a look at a few photos taken earlier :)

What we have ordered :-

Misha is all sweating :) No air con .. hahahaha .. anyway, she enjoys the food very much and guess what ... she will go back for more in future :)

So, remember to visit this particular shop if you are around that area ok?

April Fool's Day!!!

Today was April Fool's Day and I really forgotten about it, until, I listened to the Singapore radio online. The DJ mentioned that today it was APRIL FOOL'S DAY ... then only I realised. Told Princess to make a prank on her dad ... ZoooMmm she went to the room to look for daddy (it is already 10 am and daddy still sleeping like a PIG-why? because daddy spent the whole night playing Xbox online!!!!).

Well ... life still goes on even it was April Fool's Day ... stomach need to be filled. Ok .. three of us sat down and discussed what should we have for lunch. Then suddenly, the idea of having lunch at Hard Rock came into our mind. Without wating any time, we quickly changed and went there.

The Kowloon Hard Rock Cafe Hong Kong was located amidst the shopping and entertainment district of Tsimshatsui.
There were lots of choices that we can choose from the memu and do you know what .. Kowloon Hard Rock Cafe Hong Kong actually has ASIA MENU!!!! Hahaha .. that really surprised me actually :) Maybe they do have Asia Menu in other cafes but did not noticed that till today hehehe :)

Since Princess and myself do not know what to eat, we suggest that Daddy ordered for us. Daddy ordered Jumbo Combo (A delectable array of popular starters includes Santa Fe Spring Rolls, Hickory-Smoked Chicken Wings, Onion Rings, Potato Skins and Tupelo Chicken Tenders. Served with four different sauces for mixing and matching); Famous Fajitas (Choice of grilled chicken or beef served with pico de gallo, shredded Jack and Cheddar cheeses, fresh guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce and hot flour tortillas) and Hickory Smoked Bar-B-Que Baby Back Ribs (A full rack of West Tennessee-style baby back ribs rubbed and basted in our authentic Hickory Bar-B-Que sauce and cooked to perfection – so the meat falls right off the bone. Served with seasoned fries, ranch beans and fresh coleslaw). After the lunch, we are soooo full.

After all these, we had the best dessert, hehehe, the Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae (Ice cream and hot fudge on a fresh brownie, topped with chopped walnuts, chocolatesprinkles, fresh whipped cream and a cherry). Yummy yummy .. nice nice and full full :)

By the time, we finished our lunch it was already about 4pm. We do not have dinner that day because we were too full from the lunch hehehe ...

Till then ... take care!!!

Lunch with Princess

Today, I had lunch with my Princess since she can go back earlier (ie last day of school - usually the kids are permitted to go back at 12 noon). We went to a shopping complex nearby to hunt for food. At last we agreed to have some Malaysian food .. yeah .. Malaysian food.

After looking through the menu, we noticed that the place does sell quite a varieties of Malaysian food. At the end, we decided to order Hainanese Chicken Rice, Fried Kuey Teow and Satay (yeah .. satay ... u saw it correctly!)

fried kuey teow

Hainanese Chicken Rice

We waited like 20 minutes, the Hainanese Chicken Rice and Fried Kuey Teow were served. Have peek. Princess and me quickly picked up our chopsticks and fork/spoon to try the food. To our dissapointment, the Fried Kueh Teow is too oily :( but the Chicken Rice is ok :) We waited for our satay .. BUT was told that satay finished. Princess is dissapointed. Anyway, told Princess we will try that some other day.

Conclusion is the food is ok ok only. We have tried better and nicer Malaysian food in Hong Kong. One of the best Malaysian restaurant that can be found in Hong Kong is called SABAH, it is situated in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Will blog about that .. next time!!

Till then, take care
