SHELTIE - back at home ...:)

Brought Sheltie back home today. Dr confirmed that he is slightly better but still coughing. He has to take 3 different medicines, twice a day.

Dr mentioned that if after 3-4 days, he still coughing, then need to bring him back to see Dr again :(

Well .. Dr did mention that it will take about 1-2 weeks to clear the coughing. Princess said that the coughing sounded like a handphone hehehe :)

See how cute is this Princess .. Princess is only 3 years old when this photo was taken. It was taken during one of her kindergarden's concert.

Time really flies fast. .. it was only like yesterday, the concert took place and now she is already going to be 7 years old !!!!

I miss her when she was younger, so adorable and cute!!! hehehe .. well all kids will eventually grow up ... right? :)

SHELTIE - not feeling well (Part 2)

Called the Vet today to get updates on Sheltie.

Was told that Sheltie is slightly better. His stool is harden BUT still has some blood in it. Now Sheltie coughs :( Dr said that his lung is also infected ... now on medication and must take extra care. The good news is that Sheltie can come back home in another day or two.

Princess mentioned to me if possible she does not want to keep Sheltie anymore because she is really scare of Sheltie. Spoken to husband and decided that he will try to look for a new owner for Sheltie rather than sending Sheltie back to the pet shop. Even though Princess is scare of Sheltie, she cried and cried when told me that she does not want to keep her .. :( .. soo sad!!

Well .. what we can do at this moment is that pray hard so that Sheltie will be fine as soon as possible.

SHELTIE - not feeling well

today is a sad day ...

Sheltie woke up quite early in the morning .. looked weak. Husband said that he is shivering, maybe too cold .. since these few days weather are not good .. ie windy then sunny then windy again .. even the humans can feel the cold

Sheltie did not want to eat his dinner .. just smelt it .. and then walked away and sleep at one corner. He looked so tired :(

Decided to bring Sheltie to see a vet.The clinic is very far away from our residential area and it will close at 10.00pm.Rush there with Sheltie so that the doctor can have a look at him :(

Doctor told me that high chances that Sheltie was infected by virus. Dr said that Sheltie has infected by a powerful virus called "Coronavirus". It is a virus that affects the intestinal tract of dogs. Dr said that Sheltie's case is quite serious therefore, need to be admitted in the hospital for further observation. Dr did mention that luckily Sheltie was only infected by Coronavirus only IF he was infected by Parvovirus, the chances of being alive is very very low. The reason is taht the parvovirus the most powerful virus :(

We did ask the Dr how Sheltie can be infected. Dr just mentioned that usually this virus is passed from another dog and usually it takes about one week to be infected. Soo .. the conclusion is that Sheltie got the virus from the pet shop. Dr also advised that in future, if we intend to buy puppy, do bring the puppies for a body examination first before buying the puppy.

We left Sheltie in the hospital and will need to call back tomorrow to check on his status.

If you are interested to read more about this virus do go to http://www.cpvh.com/Articles/8.html

We really pray hard that Sheltie is ok and recovering fast as he is a tiny pup :(

My own DOG

Yeah ... we bought a puppy from a pet shop at victory avenue mongkok. It was a shetland sheepdog species.

The puppy is so cute. It has three different colors on his body..black .. white and brown.

My princess decided to name HIM, Sheltie. Sheltie was already 3 months old when we took him back home. My Princess is very scared of Sheltie because Sheltie loves to chase and bite her :( .. i mean in the playful way. Each time Sheltie wanted to play with her .. Princess will just run away crying :(

Hope that I have more updates for you guys!!!

Till then .. take care and love always!

My dream DOG

The first time I saw this particular dog .. I really fall in love with her ... I really do :)

The Shetland Sheepdog is an outstanding companion dog and is intensely loyal. It is lively, intelligent, trainable, and willing to please and obey. Shelties are loving, loyal, and affectionate with their family, but are naturally aloof with strangers and might not appreciate being petted by someone they do not know; for this reason Shelties must be socialized extensively. Some can be quite reserved and some have varying degrees of shyness. Although they are excellent family pets, Shelties do especially well with children if they are raised with them from an early age; however, their small size makes it easy for a child to accidentally injure them, so supervision is necessary.

Shelties have a reputation as vocal dogs, but that might be undeserved. Ill-bred dogs often display a terrier-like personality--hyper and yappy, always on the go--but can just as easily be overly timid and may become a fear-biter. The intelligent Sheltie can be trained to be an excellent watch dog, and not yappy, giving two or three barks to alert its owner to a person at the door.

Unlike some dog breeds, males and females make equally good pets. The main difference is that males tend to have more impressive coats, and unspayed females will 'blow' coat after every heat cycle. Males should appear masculine, females feminine.

The herding instinct is still strong in many Shelties. They love to chase things, including squirrels, ducks, and children. When people are milling around the yard, Shelties sometimes try to "herd" the people into a group by running around, barking, and nipping at heels. This tendency appears most when children run around the yard in a group. Shelties love to run in wide-open areas. The space should be safe and they should not get too far away.

Shelties usually love to play. They do best with a sensitive, yet firm, owner. The Sheltie is, above all, an intelligent herder and likes to be kept busy, although their activity level usually coincides with their owner's level. Shelties also are very smart, making them highly trainable.

So... do you think I should keep a Sheltie? I really love it BUT .. well... need to get approval from my Princess since .. she is worry that I might divert my love towards Sheltie .. hehehe ...
